Deviation Actions
As of today, and up until June 30th, TerraContest will be accepting scenary renderings from any member of deviantART who is interested in having their work recognized and turned into a DA Print.
The rules for the contest are as follows:
1) Use one program to render the scene. Terragen, Bryce, or Vue D'Esprit. Photoshop may be used for color correction but not airbrushing a scene.
2) Make the final rendered image 1280x1024. If your picture is chosen, I will have you render the scene at 6000x4000 and send it to me so I am able to submit it to DA Prints.
3) You may get a DEM of a real place, but you must represent it like it would look in real life as much as possible (that means surface map and water).
4) Only send in one rendering. If more than one is sent, I will delete the additional scenes.
5) All pictures that are submitted must be emailed to aleks@hackernetwork.com in a zip file that includes a text file describing the picture and what lead you to come up with this so I can add this to the description if your picture is chosen.
6) The zip file must be named as follows: DAmembername-nameofscene. This way I know who did it and what to call it.
All files that are submitted will be looked over and in the days following June 30th, I will make my decision on the winner. I will then submit the work onto my site (giving credit to the user of course) as well as submitting the text file with the reason they made it and what lead them to make it.
Once a scene is submitted I will not send a copy of it back. Be sure to make copies for yourself, and after the contest is over, I will make a collage of thumbnails of all the pictures submitted so everyone can see the scenes submitted, listing all those that participated in the contest.
Anything submitted after 5:00pm PST on June 30th will not be accepted. I will have the results in the following days after the contest, as it will take me a while to go through all the pictures and make a final decision.
After I have chosen the winner and submitted it so everyone will know who did it, I will contact that person and have them render a 6000x4000 image for me to submit to DA Prints, as well as have them tell me their address. I will submit the image and purchase one for the winner and have it mailed to them.
Good luck to everyone. I can't wait to see how many responses I get on this.

More and more...
As I get more free time, I'm finding more time to go out and take photos. I recently submitted some photographs I took when I went home to New York state for Christmas. Oddly enough, there wasn't any snow but I still found some great places to take pictures.
In the next few months, I'll be moving back to New York and from there will upgrade my photography equipment and produce better works of art.
For those that still watch me / look at what I post -- thank you!
Keep an eye out for more submissions soon. Oh and I finally bought a DA membership AGAIN -- woohoo!! :D
Still doing photography, not so much TG
Well, if anyone notices, I've been adding photographs but not so much Terragen stuff. I suppose because I've only got my laptop now and I don't want to leave it on for 3 days to render some huge image... I dunno.
I suppose I've gotten into photography a lot recently -- more in the last few years. I'm saving up to get some better equipment - hopefully a Ti2 but we'll see.
So, for those that still do check back and leave comments, thank you. To those that don't, I understand... I went away for a while and came back with new work, but not Terragen.
Thanks for all the support! :)
Keep an eye out for new photography -- it comes in random sp
Well, here's another update... 3 years later :P
Current Project: Flying High (Terragen 2)
Status: 65% Completed

I know I know.... I haven't updated my journal in years - 3 to be exact. I have submitted photos I've taken and whatnot, but I haven't really been as active on here as I used to be besides that.
Well, I picked up Terragen 2 a while back and didn't use it that much until just recently. I had to take some time to get familiar with it all again but now that I've got the hang of it, I'm working on something finally!
I hope to have it done in the next week or so, so for those that still pay attention, hope you like it when
Holy Crap ... What happened to you!?!?
Hmm ... well, if you've kept an eye on my posting times, I really haven't done much work in a while. I do have some photography at home but I still need to go through it before I post it.
I haven't been out with my camera in a while and really should adventure out some more. I've been just really busy with work and life and haven't taken any time to just do some photography.
I would make plans on when I'll post more stuff but it never seems to work out! :P I will try and post some new work soon though.
I've been tinkering around with Terragen 2 a bit and have come up with some interesting scenes; I just need to get a better understan
